It all begins with an idea.
Here is the first post of hopefully many. I plan on sharing everything I’ve learned about writing and publishing on this blog in the hopes that other writers can benefit from my experience, save time, and avoid learning some lessons the hard way. I decided to call it the Shortcut Blog because there are obviously no shortcuts in the writing life.
Except there is one.
A big one.
It’s my big secret, and I’m going to give it away, right here, on the first entry, for free.
The shortcut to writing is not a gimmick. It’s not something you can learn or find on the internet in some blog. It’s inside you. The shortcut to becoming a writer is to believe in yourself. That’s it. That’s the big timesaver and the most direct route. Believe in yourself, believe in your writing, go confidently and directly at it, and you’ll get there.
Now, if I can only live up to this belief myself.
